Proxima Nova, born in 2005, bridges the design aesthetics of iconic typefaces like Futura and Akzidenz Grotesk. This remarkable hybrid achieves a perfect balance, combining modern proportions with a distinct geometric appearance. Originally introduced as Proxima Sans in 1994, Mark Simonson unveiled a modest character set in three weights (Regular, Medium, and Black), each complemented by italics. However, driven by his passion for innovation, Simonson went on to transform this initial offering into a comprehensive and versatile font family of 42 fonts. This expanded collection boasts seven weights across three widths, all accompanied by their respective italics, resulting in an impressive ensemble that caters to diverse design needs.
